Documents Required for BIS Registration

For Domestic Manufacturers:
  • Company’s PAN Card & GST Certificate

  • Manufacturing License

  • Product Test Report from BIS-recognized lab

  • Factory address & layout

  • Details of machinery and production process

  • Authorized signatory’s Aadhaar/PAN

  • Trademark certificate (if applicable)

For Foreign Manufacturers (FMCS):
  • Business license or company registration

  • Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) details

  • Test reports from BIS-recognized labs

  • Factory inspection may be required

  • Trademark/user agreement

Eligibility Criteria

Manufacturer (not importer/trader) must apply.

Product must fall under the mandatory certification list.

Testing must be done in a BIS-approved lab.

For foreign entities, an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) is mandatory.
